Book Review: Heavenly Host High: Dawn of Chaos
Around the year AD 60-61, the Biblical
Apostle Paul, wrote a letter to the church of Ephesus
reminding them that “We
wrestle not against flesh & blood, but against principalities, powers,
rulers
of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places”
(Ephesians 6:12).
Though not apostles, at least not
yet, Sages Sean & Elijah, choose
to write a similar letter to
the “church” of post-millennial high school
culture, with seemingly the same warning as Paul.
Imagine authors C.S. Lewis (The
Screwtape Letters) and Frank Peretti (This Present Darkness),
sitting in the Oxford’s
Rabbit Room with the rest of The Inklings.
As they consumed their pints,
the brood of educational elites, Netflix
binged on “Hunger Games”, “Avengers”, Disney’s
“Zombies”, & “The Kid Who
Became King”.  From that binge the
stalwarts of the writing world
were inspired to write a book on late 21st
century high school culture to include issues such as
 race, divorce, death,
bullying, the afterlife etc..  As they
create this glimpse into the hallway of
a contemporary high school, a peak into
the minds of contemporary kids, wrought with all the
 post-millennial vices of video
games, YouTube, cell phones, “hooking up” etc., what appears is
 an image of a “winged
hoody” followed by 176 pages of uber-relevance.
What appears is
“Heavenly Host High: Dawn of Chaos” as written by Sean
Christopher & Elijah Wilson.
Parents of post-millennials, you
must pick up two copies of this book!  Go
to Amazon and get
one for yourself and one for your child.  Consider it an educational opportunity for
you as a
parent and a stunning shot of “my life on paper” for your child.  Kudos to Sean and Elijah for
writing such a
relevant, piercing, encouraging book to get the attention of the future of our
world on the broad scope of the seen and unseen world around them and the impact
their
decisions make on that world and the people in it.
